L. Brekke Juice Press
has been in existence since the mid '70's and the first seven early
print issues are still available in limited amounts (available
inventory ). Juice
has been awarded support grants by CCLM, a funding arm of the National
Endowment of the Arts, has been archived in the Oakland Museum, Oakland,
CA; early members of COSMEP (committee of small magazine editors and
publishers) and have had limited but international distribution through
libraries, individual subscriptions, and independent bookstores. Juice
is and has always been open to submissions from all writers,
regardless of experience or reputation. Quality poetry of any form,
theme, length, or philosophy is welcome. If it moves us, makes us laugh,
or somehow surprises or impresses us, we'll use it. We're not too fond
of poems that are written in "poetic language," and if it's
rimed, it better be surprising and complementary to the sense of the
poem. Since it's online and free, you should read what we've taken so
far. Chances are if you don't like what you read here, we won't like
what you write. To submit Poetry,(September through May only) send 3 to 5 poems pasted in body of email to: submissions @juice-press.com,
Then join our discussion group to receive comments
from the editors and other poets active with Juice online: MOAPG. As editors we have always attempted to respond
to submissions with honest feedback. By using a forum/list as a
submission vehicle, we have been able to do that in a timely manner
and are attempting to make this whole business of editing more interactive. [ The discussion group is active September through May. ] |
