I receive U.S. Mail at:
Mt Aukum, CA 95656
Below are url's for two
websites I maintain:
http://benhiatt.cdepot.net/
http://www.mtaukumpress.com/
(both need serious work, which I keep threatening
to perform)
By
kicking in the front door on the "benhiatt" site you will
go through an "auto-biography".
My problem is that I can't seem to do one anymore without dropping into
satire or parody.
There have been a bunch of them over the years, changing as my story
changes. Usually a different one on each new book or chapbook. Great
fun but not terribly informative. I think my favorite of all time went
something like this:
"Ben Hiatt was . . . . .
For a very long time.
Unfortunately.. . . . . . .
He still is!"
I s'pose if I really wanted to tell folks
something it would be this:
"Ben Hiatt began publishing poetry, fiction and sports
writing in the late 50's. 45 years later he is still at it."
If you feel like giving the bookstore
a plug it can be found at:

These days the poems come when they will
and whatever spare energy I have goes into my political commentary,
which tends to piss off the highly sensitive folks in the literary community
so I seldom bother to bring such stuff to that community's
attention. If your curiosity is tickling against your better judgement,
my latest publication can be found at:
http://mtaukumpress.com/news/imaginate1.PDF
It's a big freakin' file (800+
kb PDF--5 to 10 minute download) but lotsa fun if you like political
satire. I even throw in one pretty damn good poem just for folks who
tend to be sub-literate in other fields. If you want to take a peak
at my political satire w/o all that download time look here http://bensays.blogspot.com/ where
the latest piece is my story about Howard Dean using body doubles.
Thanks.
