I live In Logan Lake, British Columbia, Canada.  I have been studying writing for many years, mostly at BC Colleges.  I attended David Thompson University Centre in Nelson, BC Many locals referred to it as The Black Mountain College of Canada.  Some writers I met there were Fred Wah, Colin Browne and Paulette Jiles.  In New Westminster, BC I attended Douglas College.  My first publication was in the magazine "Event" put out by Douglas College.  I still publish solely in Event for personal reasons.

When I was twenty-one I suffered a nervous breakdown.  In my spare time I work as a mental health advocate, writing letters to editors and speaking to the public about mental illness.  I am married to Rui Coelho, and although we have no children, we do own a cockateil--which is like having a permanent two year old around--yeah--for the next twenty years or so.
