The 2001 recipient of the New York Foundation for the Art's Gregory Millard Fellowship for poetry, beluvid ola-jendai (aka David C. Myers) is a Queens, New York native spoken word performance poet who has been featured and performed at venues throughout New York City. As the founder/director of melanation, he is a principle coordinator for the Urban Lyricists Artist Collective. beluvid is a Cave Canum poet and an active member of several online poetry communities that include nubianpoets.com, urbanlivez.com, poetry family, black arts, and world wide word smiths. Featured on the forthcoming Urban Lyricists' collaborative cd project, his additional credits include a self-published body of work entitled Butterfly in Disguise: an Evolution in Progress and a recent editting of My Manufactured English by poet/author Simone. beluvid can be regularly found moderating an online community, also called Melanation. He is also featured in Juice Magazine's 2003 online edition. beluvid's next body of work is tentatively entitled Nefarious Jackson and the Chocolate Chrysalis. |
