SYMMETRIES

                            IV. **

The fence

              standing upright through snow

                            is the pattern.

The white is the salt of human sweat.

The pattern

              expressed in symmetries

is one thing against the blankness of the infinite.

It is symbolic of our culture.

It is black and white in mathematical terms.

Beneath the salt of human sweat is color.

Color gives dimension; it gives new symmetry,

                            the symmetry of color

                                          making highways visible

making institutions.

If you want to come in

                            there should be no fence.

If you are in and are looking out

it is white and there is a fence.

A shadow cast by the first ray of sun

              is a word

                            becomes a break in monotony

that culture picks up.

The unshadowed

              is all that is unknown.

Break the pattern.

Speak loud.
